We currently have a Process Engineer position available for a motivated individual to join our team in Exeter/Plymouth . Joining us on a full-time basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £40,000 - £50,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.
About the role
Our Process Engineer will optimise the efficiency and reliability of process control plant and equipment at Drinking Water sites in conjunction with the Asset Performance and Water Quality & Science teams, through deployment of specialist MEICA skills.
They will liaise with third party contractors and Technical Services delivery partners to ensure the quality of installations, work programmes, repair and maintenance activities deliver the right solution for the Water Services business. 
And will always achieve the highest quality for our customers, colleagues, the environment, and our stakeholders by putting “Quality First”.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support the Process & Optimisation Manager through provision of specialist MEICA technical knowledge regarding process engineering and control philosophy, plant and equipment.

  • Deliver maintenance and resilience for the DWI Transformation Programme

  • Provide technical solutions to process and asset challenges in a timely manner to ensure Drinking Water Safety Plan risks are managed to an acceptable level.

  • Interrogate, review, and amend Process Control and Automation Systems to ensure continually optimised for Quality, Quantity and Cost.

  • Recommend and action Process Control and installation improvements that provide cost beneficial and resilient asset operation.

  • Review work programmes to ensure core technical standards are adhered in conjunction with delivering the right solution for the clean water business.
  • Write and sign off method statements and risk assessments appropriate to the work activity being progressed. Ensure personnel safety on site is effectively managed in liaison with the Field Team Managers.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant ISO, H&S and Quality standards.

  • Participation in the DWS Operational Sub Regional standby rotation (after suitable training period)

  • What we are looking for:

  • Relevant formal MEICA qualifications
  • ICA/Electrical bias ONC/HNC/HND.
  • Extensive experience of process control, automation and electrical systems.
  • Ability to fault find, diagnose repair/ maintenance requirements.
  • Working with and understanding of PLCs to include management and programming.
  • Working with communication protocols
  • Control instrumentation.
  • Managing and delivering process optimisation and efficiency programmes.
  • A full UK driving license as will require covering wide geographical area.
  • Flexible approach to working hours to deliver the requirements of the role.
  • Participation in the DWS Operational Sub Regional standby rotation (after suitable training period)
