We are launching our Graduate Management Programme for 2024 where we are recruiting at least 20 Graduates to welcome into the business who will work with us to bring their talents, share their enthusiasm, motivation and become our leaders of the future.

  • How does our Graduate Programme work? 

  • The Programme will launch on Monday 16th September 2024. The first two years will be on a fixed term contract with South West Water. During the two year structured programme you will gain valuable experience working in teams at South West Water and our main capital programme partners who deliver specialists services in Project Management, Design, Process and Civil Engineering.
  • You will typically undertake four 6-month placements in a range of teams all based in the South West region before choosing your final destination role based on your preferred specialism. During this time, we help you discover your potential through a range of learning opportunities and professional development. 
  • As part of the two-year programme you will support the Engineering department in all stages of project delivery and be responsible for related issues throughout the business.
  • What can you expect: 

  • A comprehensive week-long induction programme where you will network with colleagues in our business to learn more about us, the Graduate Programme and development opportunities. You will attend site visits and meet our Directors and CEO  
  • Hands-on experience with varied, challenging projects. You will have the flexibility to choose your career path as you gain exposure to the different areas of our business 
  • You will receive ongoing training to equip you within your placement throughout the two years. Your manager will support you and give you the tools and training you need on the job. You will spend 1-day a week working towards a professional qualification which will compliment your learning and development, delivered by our college provider   
  • You will be assigned a buddy and mentor who will support you when you start and throughout the programme. You will be able to build networks with your fellow graduates as well as senior leaders across the business 
  • Your health, safety, and well-being to be our priority. We respect and value the needs of our people to ensure they have the right work-life balance. 
  • What we need from you: 

  • We are looking for Graduates who are proactive, innovative, creative, and open to new challenges 
  • Able to change and adapt to new technology and circumstances
  • Able to work accurately, prioritise work and manage time effectively
  • Motivated, passionate, and driven to achieve goals and objectives  
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing to colleagues, at all levels, throughout the business  
  • Prepared to travel and work on various sites within the region
  • The ability for lateral thinking and prepared to challenge ‘conventional’ wisdom
  • Full clean driving licence.
