As a Planned Electrical Craftsperson, you’ll be the go-to expert for maintaining and repairing electrical systems across our wastewater treatment sites. From pumps and motors to control panels and switchgear, you’ll ensure our assets run efficiently and reliably—helping prevent environmental risks and keeping communities safe.
This role offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to develop new skills in a supportive team environment.
Competitive salary: £35,777 – £42,399 per year

What you'll be doing:
Carrying out planned maintenance and repairs on electrical equipment across multiple wastewater treatment sites
Working with pumps, motors, panels, switchgear, and specialist process machinery
Installing new electrical equipment to BS7671 standards
Diagnosing and repairing electrical control systems
Collaborating with mechanical and electrical colleagues as part of a mobile, multi‑skilled team
Maintaining high safety standards, including compliance with RAMS and IEE regulations
Participate in standby/call-out rota
What we are looking for:
Essentials
5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) including Maths, English, and Science at grade C or above.
Indentured Apprenticeship in an Electrical discipline
Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship in an Electrical discipline
Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification e.g. City and Guilds, BTEC, ONC/HNC/HND
A full UK driving licence is required
Desirables
City & Guilds Inspect and Test 2391-10
Up to date with 18th Edition IEE Regulations
CompEx 09/10
Industrial/Commercial experience required
Experience with VSD’s, soft starts and motor control systems
Understanding of Wiring Diagrams
Knowledge of working with Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
Good working knowledge of LV systems (working with 415vac down to 24vac and dc control and indication)
