At South West Water, the work we do keeps communities, businesses and homes supplied with safe, reliable drinking water every day. As a Network Maintenance Technician, you’ll play a vital role maintaining the infrastructure that keeps water flowing across the region.
This is a varied field-based role where you’ll work across operational sites and network assets, supporting both planned maintenance and urgent operational response.
What you'll be doing
Carrying out maintenance on network assets including service reservoirs, pressure reducing valves and air valves.
Supporting the operation of the water distribution network to keep supplies running reliably.
Completing site inspections, maintenance and repairs across operational facilities.
Assisting with planned and reactive work to minimise supply interruptions for customers.
Maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
Supporting reservoir cleaning and confined space activities where required.
Providing professional customer service when working in public or operational environments.
Joining the standby and call-out rota once fully trained.
What we're looking for
Experience working in a water, utilities or operational maintenance environment.
Practical maintenance skills across buildings, equipment or operational assets.
Ability to work independently in a field-based role and as part of a wider team.
Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
Good organisation and ability to work to deadlines.
A customer-focused approach.
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
Full UK driving licence (B+E desirable).
EUSR Water Hygiene certificate desirable.
