We’re looking for a Plumbing Compliance Assessor to join our Water Regulations team, covering the Cornwall area. This is a field-based role, and we’re flexible on base location, provided you can effectively cover the region.

You’ll play a vital part in protecting public health, ensuring water quality, and helping customers comply with statutory water regulations. The role also offers the opportunity to increase your earnings through a structured progression scheme, as you build experience, capability, and relevant qualifications.

What you’ll be doing:

• Inspect domestic and commercial plumbing installations to ensure compliance with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999

• Identify, investigate and take appropriate action where non-compliance or contamination risks are found

• Issue and record enforcement notices using specialist systems and corporate databases

• Maintain accurate records, work orders, diary entries and appointment details in line with service standards

• Provide technical advice and guidance to customers, colleagues and external stakeholders

• Respond effectively to suspected or actual contamination incidents

• Work safely at all times, following health, safety and company procedures

• Support the wider Regulations team and cover for the Team Manager when required

• Keep up to date with changes in legislation, plumbing practices and regulation enforcement

• Complete relevant training, including working towards an NVQ Level 3 in Regulations Enforcement

What we’re looking for:

You’ll be someone who takes pride in high standards, enjoys problem-solving, and can communicate confidently with a wide range of customers and professionals.

Essential requirements:

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English

• Strong planning and organisational skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication

• Ability to interpret technical drawings and plans

• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office

• Full UK driving licence

• A customer-focused, methodical and safety-conscious approach

Desirable:

• Plumbing qualification or background in plumbing / allied trades

• Water Regulations or plumbing qualifications are desirable, but we’ll support you to develop in the role.

• Previous experience working independently in a field-based role
