We're hiring a Planner to join our Network Service Alliance (NSA) team on a temporary basis, for maternity cover.
This is a full-time position starting on 1st July 2026 until 30th June 2027, paying £26,158 per annum.
About the role:
Working as part of our Network Planning and Logistics team, you'll be effectively planning the daily work of NSA resources. Within the plans, you'll need to consider a range of elements, from customer commitments to work priority, skills, efficiency and streetworks noticing.
What you'll be doing:
Day-to-day planning for all resources and workstreams in the NSA area.
Identify, escalate, and manage delivery risks (jeopardy management).
Communicate effectively with customers on planned and ongoing work.
Ensuring all required information is provided to the operational teams to complete the task planned.
Ensuring all business processes are followed, recording all necessary information in a timely manner.
Work with planners in all NSAs to best utilise available resource.
Monitor reports to balance workload and meet service targets
Work with Delivery Managers to align staffing levels with demand fluctuations
Contribute to the maintenance of the attendance records of all staff within the NSA and liaise closely with the other NSAs to deploy resource across the entire region.
Ensure operational activities comply with requirements of New Roads and Streetworks Act and Traffic Management Act.
Ensure the quality of information from all is monitored and any issues are highlighted to the planning manager.
Ensure best practice is employed and shared through Alliance with other managers and technical experts across the company.
Ensure that the Quality Management System is effectively maintained.
Maintain and develop the competency of staff under his/her management to ensure regulatory and business requirements are met and continuous improvement achieved.
Provide support to the NSA Admin Assistant when required.
What we're looking for:
5 GCSEs including English and Maths (or equivalent).
Experience of working in a busy office environment.
The ability to understand data and information.
Effective planning skills - able to plan work and deploy resource.
Excellent communication skills.
The ability to work to reactive scenarios, deliver to changing priorities and demanding deadlines.
The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
