Our Major Water Infrastructure Programme
Strategic Water Resource Options: Shaping the future of water - and careers
At the heart of one of the West Country’s most significant water infrastructure programmes is a team of people driven by purpose. At South West Water, we’re proud to be playing a key role in delivering resilient, sustainable water solutions- while creating opportunities for talented individuals to work on projects that truly matter.
In collaboration with Wessex Water and West Country Water and Environment (WCWE), we’re developing Strategic Resource Options (SROs) - large-scale, forward-thinking projects designed to protect water resources and strengthen long-term environmental resilience.
These aren’t just infrastructure projects; they’re opportunities for our people to apply their expertise to challenges that will shape the future of the regions water supply for generations.
Why this work matters
Water underpins everything, from the homes we live in to the businesses and communities that sustain the West Country. Investing in these projects today means protecting something essential for future generations: reliable, sustainable access to water in a changing world.
But it’s not just about the outcome - it’s about the people making it happen.
For our teams, this work offers the opportunity to tackle complex, real-world challenges where their expertise has a visible, lasting impact. Whether they’re designing innovative engineering solutions, protecting sensitive environments, or navigating regulatory frameworks, every role plays a part in shaping a more resilient future.
It’s meaningful work, delivered in a collaborative environment where knowledge is shared, ideas are encouraged, and individuals are supported to grow. Because we know that when our people thrive, the projects and the communities they serve do too.
