What we do
Our Finance and Commercial department provides South West Water and our external customers with a wide range of services. Whether they’re undertaking property searches or ensuring our contractors get paid, allocating capital spend or publishing our statutory and regulatory accounts – every day brings a new challenge for these teams.

With £1billion of investments planned for the next five years, there’s never a slow day in our tight-knit, sociable Capital Finance team. From wastewater to IT systems and everything in between, they’re responsible for capital expenditure and assets accounting. With new challenges every day and exposure to different areas of our business guaranteed, it’s always an exciting place to be.
Our Central Finance team works closely with the rest of the Finance department to consolidate results before presenting them to our board of directors and external auditors. From overseeing budgeting preparation to producing monthly VAT returns, it’s also down to them to ensure that there are strong financial controls in place to maintain accurate financial records.
It’s down to our Revenue Team to deliver monthly reporting and detailed analysis of all revenue controls set by Ofwat, the water industry regulator. From preparing management accounts and annual budgets to setting our annual prices and ensuring commercial billing is completed accurately – this team enjoys a range of work and incredible opportunities along the way.
Business Performance and Insight team
It’s down to our Business Performance and Insight team to report on the financial performance of South West Water’s operational and support services teams. Providing a holistic view of business performance, they also deliver KPI reporting to senior leadership and finance teams.
